World Building with Bill Ransom: December 16

We are pleased to announce that author and poet Bill Ransom will be our guest speaker on Friday, December 16th. He will host a workshop on world building in fiction (with a focus on sci-fi) and its relationship to non-fiction. He has co-authored a science fiction trilogy with Dune author Frank Herbert as well as writing his own futuristic suspense novels. Besides receiving a nomination for the Pulitzer prize in poetry, Mr. Ransom also started the popular Port Townsend Writers Conference, and is currently a dean of curriculum at Evergreen State College.

Mr. Ransom’s books are available from the library, and we highly recommend you read or at least peruse one of them before the meeting. Titles are available on his website: http://www.sfwa.org/members/ransom/
